Bosporos Boat Club

Contact Information:

Bosporos BC was established in 1999 to help the relationships, spirit and passion that the Oxford University Boat Club fosters in its members and to provide a framework from which ex-oarsmen and friends of the club can support the OUBC to win both the Boat Race and the Isis and Goldie Race each year.
Since its formation the Club has succeeded in organising a number of annual events for the friends of OUBC and Old Blues to meet socially throughout the year. These events allow for an important chance for interaction between the Old Blues and members of the current squad.
With respect to rowing, the Club has been a huge success. Over the last 10 years members of the Club (sometimes rowing as 1829 Boat Club) have rowed at Henley, the Head of the Charles and The Head of the River. Recently members of the Club have won events at the Head of the Charles, Henley and placed 15th overall at the Head of the River. Bosporors BC / 1829 BC 8s have also provided useful and experienced sparring partners for the current squad in pieces on the tideway.
There has recently been a change of guard on the Bosporos Committee. The new blood is committed to re-establishing the Club, boosting membership and ensuring the Old Blues are helping the OUBC win more Boat Races.
