North Merchiston Club

The Club was founded in 1921 as the largest Boys Club in Scotland and continued to develop over the years providing a wide range of activities for Boys and later for girls too. In the 60's and 70's saw the Club turn into an Activities/Sports Club for young people, with the main long-standing sporting activities being football, table tennis and a range of martial arts (Kuk Sool Won, Karate, Kickboxing, Tae Kwon Do). These are still going strong, and we have continued to introduce new activities e.g. Dance (ballet, tap, modern, musical theatre,) Badminton, Yoga, Jog Scotland, Youth Club etc. and hope that these activities will become as strong as our core activities.
We are always open to new ideas and suggestions to further enhance our range of activities. The Club is also used by a diverse range of organisations on a regular room hire basis e.g. Edinburgh Chinese Association of Professionals, Home Educators Group, Napier University etc.. The Club is currently part-funded by Children & Families Dept of City of Edinburgh Council, South West Neighbourhood Partnership, John Watson's Trust and Nancie Massey Charitable Trust.
