Chester City Football Club is an English football club from Chester. The club suffered relegation at the end of the 2008–09 season to the Conference National from League Two (fourth tier of English football). Chester were founded as Chester F.C., however they changed their name to Chester City F.C. in 1983. Chester joined the Football League in 1931, and have spent most of their history in lower divisions. Chester won their first league title in 2004, the Conference National.
Chester play their home games at the Deva Stadium. The ground and stands are geographically inside Wales with just the club offices situated in England. Until 1990 the club played at Sealand Road.
After being forced to postpone the first two fixtures of the 2009-10 season, Chester City F.C. were given permission to start the new season.
